The BART Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has released its Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Report to the California State Legislature.

The report highlights our work to provide independent, evidence-based oversight of BART’s operations and its use of public resources. During the year, we evaluated 82 whistleblower reports, completed 25 investigations, issued eight investigative reports, recovered $1.7 million in questioned costs, and issued 39 recommendations through three performance audits.

We also released our first comprehensive recommendation status report, which found that 81% of the recommendations tested remained effectively implemented.
